PowerUp Liaison Liz Sosa, Garden City, has released the agenda which will include the opportunity to attend legislative committee meetings and make visits to legislators. The group will also introduce themselves to the House Rural Caucus.
Those who come in on Tuesday evening are invited to a social at the Topeka Capitol Plaza.
Sosa said, "The goal is to educate young people about the legislative process but to also let legislators know that we are very interested in helping grow a healthy and vital rural Kansas."
Kansas Sampler Foundation director Marci Penner said, "We often hear that young people are leaving rural Kansas as fast as they can. On the contrary, we've found that many are moving back and joining with those who have never left. I've been so impressed visiting with this age group as I've traveled the state. We need to listen to their ideas for rural Kansas and support their involvement."
