The Grand Central Hotel is a finalist for the 8 Wonders of Kansas Cuisine because it's Kansas' only AAA Four Diamond Historic Country Inn/Restaurant and customers brag that the steaks are the best in the state.

Ready for an exceptional experience in a rural community? You'll find it at this historic country inn and restaurant that has consistently received AAA Four Diamond rankings.

The hotel, built in 1884 and remodeled in 1995, features the original brick walls and stockyard brick flooring. A courtyard allows you to enjoy the Flint Hills town atmosphere while enjoying a drink and the best of Kansas' steak.

Proprietor Suzan Barnes likes to say this is where Old West charm meets New World hospitality.

On Fridays, the Grand specialty is a Premium Choice Sterling Silver Filet of Sirloin for $15.00. The Sterling Silver Prime Rib (small cut $22 and large cut $24), the one with Kansas' best reputation, is featured on Saturdays.

Other steaks include the Santa Fe Trail Ribeye, Filet of Beef Tenderloin, Grand Angelo, Peppercorn Steak, Kansas City Strip and Flint Hills Filet of Sirloin, all Sterling Silver Premium Choice steaks.

It's hard not to order a steak in this cowboy country, but other entrees include Fettucine Alfredo, Pork Tenderloin, Eggplant Parmesan, Pasta Carbonara, Catch of the Day and others.

European down comforters, the finest Egyptian cotton duvet covers and sheets are available in ten rooms.

For a first-class experience, eat and then stay over night in Cottonwood Falls!
