Much learned at the We Kan! Conference

One-hundred-forty-five people from 79 communities in Kansas attended the 2018 We Kan! Conference held March 7 in Newton. The networking conference, organized by the Inman-based Kansas Sampler Foundation, was designed for rural communities.

Topics included insurance accessibility, restoration, tourism, Facebook algorithms, smartphone video production, brochure effectiveness, communication, handling dissension, starting fitness and day care centers, entrepreneurship, and art project funding.  Additionally, attendees chose three of thirteen Speed Meeting sessions.

Foundation director Marci Penner said, "We moved rural Kansas forward at the conference with the exceptional information shared and the expanding network.  It's such a congenial group interested in helping each other."

The mission of the Kansas Sampler Foundation is to preserve and sustain rural culture.
