Lissa is an active and dynamic rural Kansan wearing many hats. Since 2017 Lissa has been an employee of the Wallace County Visitors Bureau, promoting Wallace County events, attractions, and offering. In that same time Lissa has also been an effective contractual grant writer for Wallace County organizations, as well as other northwest Kansas communities. Lissa served as a Kansas Office of Rural Prosperity Rural Champion in 2023 on behalf of Wallace County. Outside of her community development work, Lissa also has an art and design business, Shortgrass Studio, in which she provides many art and design services, including graphic design, mural painting, and painting instruction.
