Sarah also loves the energy of a good road trip, especially one punctuated by finding the best homemade food and drink along the route. (Even better if a day ends with a gorgeous sunset. Kansas is lucky enough to have the best in the world!)
A life-long learner with a diverse professional background, Sarah worked in the public and private sectors for organizations as varied as The Hutchinson News, KHI News Service (a precursor to the Kansas News Service), the Kansas Department of Agriculture, the Kansas Department of Transportation, the Kansas Health Foundation, and the Sunflower Foundation. The interests closest to her heart include rural community development, food and agriculture, and water policy.
She graduated from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. A member of the Kansas State Fair Board, Sarah serves south-central Kansas extension districts in that role. She lives with her family in Wichita.
