Registration deadline nears for Big Rural Brainstorm

The deadline to register for the Big Rural Brainstorm is March 7. Organized by the Kansas Sampler Foundation and facilitated by Marci Penner, the second Big Rural Brainstorm will be held Friday, March 14 from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. in Newton's Meridian Event Center.

Anyone interested in being part of a fast-paced, interactive, action-oriented event designed to move rural Kansas forward should register at kansassampler.org.  The cost of the event is $45, which includes a noon meal.

Just a few of the topics to be discussed will be community communication, local foods usage, re-purposing downtowns, statewide house concert circuit, integrating technology community-wide, empowering PowerUps (21-39s who are rural by choice), and a new model for small town economic development.

Those from rural communities, especially between the ages of 21-39, are specifically encouraged to attend, but everyone is welcome.

Only 200 slots are available.  A list of those already registered is found at kansassampler.org.
