We Kan! Conference to Take Place March 7

The Kansas Sampler Foundation announced that the biannual We Kan! Conference will be held March 7 in Newton. The conference theme is "What Should Kansas Look Like?  Let's Start Shaping It!"  The format will be designed to promote forward-thinking and action for rural communities.

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the Meridian Center.  The fee is $75 and people can register at kansassampler.org.  A Sippin' and Supposin' Mixer will be held the  night before.

Breakout sessions, group discussions, and Speed sessions will be used to address dozens of topics that effect tourism, economic and community development, preservation, social media, and more. Presenters are grassroots leaders who have found solutions, ideas, or pathways, as well as rural advocates involved in statewide agencies or organizations.

Foundation director Marci Penner said, "The pace will be fast and positive and Good Thinkers will dominate the day as we not only look at issues from new angles but make plans to take action. Doers from any sized town are welcome to attend."
